“Leaving Our Comfort Zones Behind. Libraries Meet Tech Trends.”COALA keynote slides

I had the joy of presenting a keynote talk this morning in Denver for the ‘Librarians on the Move’ themed Colorado Academic Library Association CoALA.

Description:  My presentation for the conference held at the Regis University in Denver today covers large current technology trends and explores their impacts on and opportunities for libraries.

CoALA Summit event site.

Abstract from conference program:

Librarians are on the move; we are meeting challenges head on and carving our future every day. In this talk, Joe Murphy proposes where we are going and how we will get there. The presentation, focusing on re-centering our approach to the future, explores the major current technology trends, discusses what they mean for libraries and how they impact our patrons. We will learn how to apply a selection of new tools and how to navigate our libraries through the rough wakes left by the constantly changing technology landscape. We will come together as a community to find joint inspiration and common path.

Thank you very much to the conference organizers, the hosting University, and all Colorado Librarians.
